Senior / Designer

Responsibilities:

• Research, plans, coordinates and proposes original designs of mechanical products and systems.
• Participates in customer and project review meetings relating to project assignments. Reports and presents information as required.
• Analyzes project work scope to assist with the development and coordination of design/drafting manpower requirements for project demand and scheduling.
• Assists in conceptual customer design proposal, identification of application. Prepares designs and layouts that define equipment concepts or the basic functional characteristics of systems, components, structures or equipment.
• Leads design staff, on a project basis, in analyzing design alternatives. Suggests design options and prepares layouts.
• Creates complete product layouts, working from detail drawings and sub-assemblies. Works from layouts, sketches, models or verbal information. Prepares mid-level engineering calculations.
• Prepares complex, final CAD detail and assembly drawings and performs final drafting review.
• May prepare and check ECN’s according to procedure. Modifies existing drawings to conform with changes on above.
• Reports project status as it relates to on-time delivery, productivity and quality of design.
• Ensures transfer of experience and expertise within the Drafting community.
• Participates in technical evaluations for all decisions that impact safety.
• Participates in design reviews to offer expertise to improve drafting throughput.

Requirement:

• Diploma – Mechanical/Production Engineering with related work experience, or extensive work experience in drafting and design including 3D modeling.
• Eight plus years related design/drafting experience.
• Minimum five years design drafting software experience (Microstation or Unigraphics preferred).
• Knowledge products and manufacturing processes and ability to develop detailed Engineering drawings and system layouts.
• Ability to perform medium level engineering calculations.
• Skills include design, product knowledge, enabling technology, and computer skills.
• Demonstrate effective internal communication skills.
• Demonstrate effective customer communication and presentation skills.
• Computer literate (Windows; MS Office; CAD software).
• Knowledge of Manifold Pipeline preferred
