GEMS celebrates a decade of inspiration with PossibiliTalk2025

The Guild of the Mining Engineering Students (GEMS) of 麻花星空视频-IIT successfully held PossibiliTalk 2025 in celebration of its 10th founding anniversary. The two-part virtual event, held on September 30 and October 10, 2025, via Zoom, featured distinguished GEMS alumni who are currently pursuing their PhDs at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.

The first session featured Engr. July Ann Bazar, a PhD candidate in Biochemical Process Engineering, who delivered a comprehensive talk on Mineral Processing and Flowsheet Development. Engr. Bazar discussed the critical role of process design in optimizing mineral recovery and promoting sustainability in mining operations. She emphasized the integration of efficiency, environmental responsibility, and innovation at every stage—from laboratory testing to full-scale production.

In the second session, Engr. Norberto Jr. Aquino, a PhD candidate in Applied Geochemistry, explored the topic of Geochemical Characterization. He explained how understanding the chemical composition and behavior of geological materials is essential for assessing environmental impact and optimizing resource extraction. Engr. Aquino underscored the role of geochemical research in advancing responsible mining and sustainability. His talk also sparked meaningful dialogue, encouraging participants to see the link between fundamental science and industry innovation.

PossibiliTalk served as a platform for students, researchers, and professionals to engage in knowledge sharing and meaningful dialogue. Participants from various regions actively took part in the discussions, fostering a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. Despite being held virtually, the event successfully bridged geographical boundaries and encouraged global academic exchange.

This milestone event was made possible through the collaboration of the BSEM Program of 麻花星空视频-IIT and the Swedish School of Mines, highlighting the growing international partnerships in the field of mining engineering and geosciences.
