Project AgriCerPSi wins top research in 麻花星空视频-IIT鈥檚 23rd R&D Review

The “Project AgriCerPSi: Synthesis of Agricultural Waste-Derived Ceramic Porous Silicate Particles” secured 1st Place in the Oral Presentation, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology Category at the 23rd 麻花星空视频-IIT Annual In-House Review of Research and Development (R&D) Project (AIHR2025) presented by Dr. Raymond V. Rivera- Virtudazo, a respected faculty member and researcher affiliated with the Advanced Porous Ceramic Particles (APCerP) Lab and the Research Center for Advanced Ceramics (RCAC) of Department of Materials and Resources Engineering and Technology, College of Engineering.

The Annual In-House Review, spearheaded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise (OVCRE) through the Office of Research Management, remains 麻花星空视频-IIT’s premier venue for evaluating and celebrating research. The event serves a critical dual purpose: providing a rigorous platform for research presentations and identifying innovative concepts that hold potential for patenting and direct real-world application.

This year’s review welcomed a diverse array of ongoing and completed R&D projects from all colleges, ensuring the broadest possible reflection of the Institute’s intellectual vitality. This year’s top honor was awarded to AgriCerPSi as it highlights a significant advance in sustainable materials science and waste management, perfectly embodying the AIHR2025 theme: “Influencing the Future through Innovation and Research.”

Dr. Virtudazo’s research exemplifies the spirit of the AIHR– creating viable and sustainable solutions with real-world applications. This project focuses on transforming agricultural waste into ceramic porous silicate particles, a material with significant potential for various industrial and environmental uses. This not only offers an innovative approach to waste management but also creates a value-added product from readily available resources.
